Kent Police and Essex Police operate a joint Procurement Services department as part of the wider Shared Service Directorate (SSD). The department is responsible for putting sourcing strategies and contracts in place to deliver a range of services, goods and works to enable the effective delivery of objectives and targets set by the Chief Constables and Commissioners of both Kent Police and Essex Police, whilst ensuring solutions provide value for money.

Tender opportunities

We endeavour to be fair, transparent and equal about opportunities available for tender.  As such many of our current and future opportunities can be found advertised on:

Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) for high value contracts
Contracts Finder for all opportunities above £25,000
E-Tendering portal for all opportunities

Through the websites listed above, you will find links to the tender documents and tender instructions. These are freely available to the public and bidders.

Both Kent Police and Essex Police tender electronically. We use a range of tools to do this but mainly facilitate our tenders through our e-tendering portal.

Framework agreements

We sometimes use other frameworks and these can include Crown Commercial Services, Kent County Council (Laser Energy), Easternshires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) and Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO).

View a list of our live contracts published on the Bluelight Procurement Database.

If you have a query about a particular contract or cannot find the contract you are looking for please email Procurement Services.

Purchase Order Terms

Single purchases under £10,000 and / or those which have not been covered by another agreed form contract shall be covered by our Purchase Order Terms and Conditions.

Grants are detailed in the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner's Plan.

Our procurement processes are governed by UK Public Contracts Regulations, guidance from the Cabinet Office and internal policies including the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner's Financial Regulations.

If you require more information on the above contracts and procurement processes, email Procurement Services.
