Strategic Lead for Strategic Independent Advisory Group
This is a brand new
role working for Essex Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner
for Essex. Making full use of your proven executive leadership
skills, you will coordinate activity and facilitate communication
between Essex Police and the Strategic Independent Advisory Group
(SIAG). SIAG is a focus group bringing together diverse people of
all ages from across Essex. At bi-monthly meetings, they provide
their knowledge and experience to help Essex Police shape the way
we police our communities. Their aid spans everything from policy
design to police recruitment.
Sharing our commitment to meeting the needs of diverse
communities through quality services, you will act as an
intermediary between Essex Police and SIAG members. Coordinating
with senior Essex Police managers to understand policies and
procedures for consideration by SIAG, you will provide Group
members with information for consultations and facilitate
discussion, ensuring all views are heard. Gathering constructive
feedback and advice, which is then presented to the Police, you
will play a key part in enabling the Force to recognise and support
the needs of the communities we serve. You will help senior
managers to monitor the quality of a range of services – including
community relations, critical incident response, stop and search,
crime and anti-social behaviour.
A strong and independent individual with demonstrable executive
leadership and facilitation skills, you will bring real enthusiasm
to the role. The ability to communicate in person at all levels and
produce clear written reports will be crucial. We expect you to
have a flexible approach and be willing to travel within Essex.
Although this is a non-salaried voluntary post, an honorarium and
reasonable expenses will be paid.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Chief
Inspector Justin Smith on 101 ext. 488835.
