Burglars steal £8,000 worth of jewellery

Police are appealing for help from the public to find three burglars who forced their way into a home and stole £8,000 worth of jewellery and cash.

The men threatened the occupant of the home in Blyth Avenue in Shoeburyness before making off with a three figure sum of cash, a wallet, an engagement ring, three mobile phones, an iPhone and a display samurai sword between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Monday, April 9, 2012.

Pc Karlo, who is investigating the incident, said: "We believe the men made off on foot up Blyth Avenue, towards Delaware road, however it is also possible that they had access to a car.

"We are very keen for anyone in that area around that time to get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information should contact Pc Karlo at Southend police station on 101.
