Have you seen stolen pet dog Stewie?
Police are appealing for information that could help them
reunite a stolen dog with its owner.

Stewie, a miniature Jack Russell Patersdale Terrier cross, was
stolen from the back garden of a house in Cumberland Crescent,
Chelmsford on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.
Someone entered the garden between 4pm and 10pm and made off with
the one-year-old dog.
Stewie is mainly white with black patches. He has a black head
with brown markings and is micro-chipped so, should someone find
him and take him to a veterinary surgery, he can be reunited with
his owner Victoria Wood.
She said: "He was a lovely dog who craved people’s
shoelaces, especially the postman’s. He was great with the kids and
all the family. We want him back dearly.”
Victoria brought Stewie back from Wales where he had been living
with her sister. They had been out celebrating a friend’s birthday
on the afternoon that he was stolen.
Investigating Officer, Pc Cat Hunt, said: "We would urge anyone
who saw people acting suspiciously near the Berwick Avenue or
Woodhall Road on that Wednesday afternoon to contact us. This theft
has left a family very distraught.”
Anyone with information in connection with the theft or Stewie’s
whereabouts is urged to contact investigating officers at
Chelmsford police station on 101 0r 0300 333 4444.
