Man arrested after ball bearings fired at car in Chelmsford
Police have arrested a man from Yorkshire after a disturbance in
Chelmsford which resulted in ball bearings being fired from a
catapult at a vehicle and a collision.
A 40-year-old man from Huntington was arrested on suspicion of
possession of an offensive weapon following the disturbance in
the car park of the Count Court at around 11am on Monday,
April 4.
This spilled out on to Parkway and New London Road and resulted
in ball bearings being fired at a black 4x4 and a collision in
Writtle Road.
No one was seriously injured and no firearms were used but ball
bearings and a catapult have been recovered.
Officers would like to reiterate this was a very extraordinary
event which is far from common in Chelmsford and involved a dispute
between people known to each other.
