Airport cops check in for Airport Hotel Watch
Officers from Stansted Airport Neighbourhood Policing Team met
staff from local hotels at the launch of Stansted Airport Hotel
Watch.
PCSO
Sue Southgate has been responsible for getting this venture up and
running and has enlisted the help of five hotels situated around
the airport area.
The aim of the Hotel Watch is to inform the hotels about
emerging crime trends and provide descriptions of suspects
responsible for these offences.
The force will pass on details of crimes committed at hotels to
other hotel members as quickly as possible and will keep staff
updated with the security risks associated with the airport and
local hotels. Its final aim is to promote information sharing
between all parties concerned.
Inspector Ian Coleman, Stansted Neighbourhood Policing Team,
said: "I firmly believe that Airport Hotel Watch will be a benefit
to all those involved as the ability for the police to quickly pass
on the details of crimes or crime trends will be a valuable
assistance to all its members. The regular police security updates
will be an added bonus to all those hotels involved."
