Update

The month of July has still remained low as far as crime is concerned. In Great Notley and Rayne however we have had several reports of bins and rubbish bags being set on fire, please be mindful of this when putting out your rubbish and dustbins of an evening.

Essex Police has bought a mobile CCTV unit this month which is great news and is a very useful tool. On Friday, June 18 our local Neighbourhood Constable Pc West took it into Great Notley. We aim to use this as often as we can on Friday and Saturday evenings to help prevent anti-social behaviour around Great Notley village.

Over the weekend July 30th 2010 we had an operation running at the Discovery Centre and in Great Notley Village where we utilised the CCTV Van resource, PCSO's and PC's.

The Discovery Centre in Great Notley has been falling victim to people setting fire to all manner of things, wood meant for fire wood, wooden gates and now a marquee meant for the beer festival has been set alight and destroyed.

In addition to this The Discovery Centre is a beautiful place and we as a community should help look after it and enjoy it, not destroy it, which is unfortunately happening at present. As a community please let’s look after The Discovery centre.

If you see anything that causes you concern then please report it immediately on 0300 333 4444 or 999 in an emergency.

The Neighbourhood Action Panel met on August 19, 2010 and members of the community have decided our priorities are anti-social behaviour in Great Notley and also added speeding vehicles along London Road between the A131 and the A120 around Great Notley and Cuckoo Way.

Our next meeting is to be held at The Community Hall, Notley Green, Great Notley. Come along and let us know your concerns and let us know what you would like us to concentrate on.

For further details please see our events section.

In the meantime please contact us on our neighbourhood police mobile 07973 703810.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
