Nuisance motorcycles/mini motos racing around in the area of
King George's playing field.
Raised on 04/01/2010
We have increased patrols in the area (both uniform and plain
clothes), section 59 warnings have been issued to two
motorcyclists, one young person has been reported for driving
offences, another youth has had his motorcycle seized. Targeted
patrols will continue. No change to priority to date (08/03/2010).
Patrols continue in the area, no specific issues raised during
February NAP panel meeting. From the February NAP this continues as
the only priority, no other priorities raised. From the March NAP ,
this remains a priority, a warning was issued to rider of a mini
moto this week which was being ridden on a footpath on nearby road
on the Marks farm estate Our Road Policing colleagues are also now
assisting us with this matter. On Sunday 04/04/10 around 6:20 PM
two local residents called to report a nusiance motor cycle
carrying a pillion passenger wearing no crash helmet. The
motorcycle was located in the area of Beckers Green Road near to
the rugby club. The owner has been reported for traffic offences
and the motorcycle was subsequently seized for no insurance. The
pillion passenger was advised. Further reports taken in relation to
motorcycles making excessive noise. Plain clothes patrols planned,
PCSOs continue to patrol the area. Powers under s.59 Police Reform
Act, The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986
causing excessive noise (namely with modified exhaust baffles) and
s.165 Road Traffic Act (no insurance, power to seize vehicle's)
will be used. ** Update 24/05/10 ** Nuisance vehicles continuing to
be a problem. A resident attended the Neighbourhood Action Panel
and reported vehicles driving in a careless manner on the access
road leading to the King Georges playing field. Patrols are
continuing to be conducted on a regular basis in the area. A number
of suggestions were made to resolve this situation and these will
be passed to partner agencies. Priority remains effective until
next Neighbourhood Action Panel.
